Overview

Thrasos is a turn-based strategy game where you play as a Greek god and compete for control of ancient Greece. Bless cities to build your influence, curse them to tear down your rivals, and outmaneuver other gods. When the last round falls, the god with the most influence wins.

How to Play

Tutorial

Thrasos includes an interactive tutorial and a full “How to Play” rules overview directly on your Board. From the game start page, select “Play Tutorial” and follow the on-screen prompts to learn how to play. For a deeper dive into the rules and mechanics of the game, tap the “?” icon in the bottom right-corner of the Board to access the “How to Play” guide.

Setup

To start a new game each player chooses a unique Greek deity. Learn more about each deity’s special quests and abilities by placing a piece on the player selection screen or in the “How to Play” guide.

Gameplay

Your goal is to win the most influence across all the cities. After 10 rounds the player with the most influence wins.

Taking a Turn

Place your deity on a city and rotate to select an action (watch a video of how to confirm a move here). Let go of the piece (and leave it on the Board) to confirm your move. If needed, you can undo your action in the pause menu.

A deity cannot act in the same city on consecutive turns, and no one may act in a city currently occupied by another deity.

Actions

On your turn, you can take one of three actions to alter the influence of a region: Bless, Curse, or Deity Power (once you've unlocked it).

Action
What It Does
Best Used For
Bless
Adds 42% influence to the selected city and 8% influence to each connected city. If the city is already at 100% influence, the Bless takes influence from the player or players with the most influence there.Building a large amount of influence in one city while also gaining a smaller amount in nearby cities.
Curse
Removes 32% influence from the player or players with the most influence in the selected city. You gain 8% influence in that city and 16% influence in each connected city.Spreading influence across the map, especially from a city with several connections.
Deity Power
Activates your Deity’s unique special ability. You earn one charge when you reach at least 70% influence in a city. Each city can award only one charge.Using your Deity’s unique ability to make a stronger or more strategic move.

News

Every city on the map is linked to 2-5 connected cities.

Any direct action that you take on a city will spread influence to those neighbors.

The spread of influence from your actions (Blessing or Cursing) to connected cities is called News.

Map

Each city has a type: Port, Mountain, or Plains. Some Events or Quests are only applicable in certain city types.

Look for the icon next to a city or tap and hold the event to see where its active.

Events

New Events appear each round and provide bonuses at individual cities. They may give bonuses to blessing, cursing, or influence the spread of News.

Some Events may only appear at specific city types.

Deity Quests

Each player always has a Quest (or its reward) active. Quests are specific to that player. The first quest rewards a one-time bonus, the second quest rewards a permanent bonus that is active for the rest of the game.

The second Deity Quest reward is very powerful since it gives you a permanent bonus for the rest of the game. The earlier you gain access to it, the more turns you will be able to make use of it.

See below to learn about each Quest and Reward.

Turn Order

The leaderboard displays: turn order, score, and which players have at least one Deity Power charge.

At the end of a round, the turn order is calculated, putting the highest ranking player first. A turn is played by placing a deity on a city and selecting an action.

FAQs

What is a Deity Power?

Deity Powers are a special action by a deity with unique effects. You earn a Deity Power charge when you reach at least 70% influence in a city. Each city can award only one charge. They cannot be lost or taken away, even if your influence in that city later drops below 70%.

How do I know if I’ve earned a Deity Power charge?

Once you earn a charge from a city, your Deity’s symbol will appear underneath it. This shows that the city has already awarded you a Deity Power charge.

You can see your remaining charges on your Deity card during your turn. Charges can only be spent. They cannot be lost or taken away, even if your influence in that city later drops below 70%.

Can I earn more than one Deity Power from the same city?

No, once you've received a Deity Power charge from a city, you can't get another Deity Power charge from that city.
